Recruitment

DSPD assessment pilot projects

The DSPD pilot projects employ a multi-disciplinary workforce and as we enter the planning stage for the next phase of pilots, we will be advertising opportunities to be part of these innovative projects. Although in the Prison Service pilots, the majority of the staff will be Prison Officers and in the NHS, the majority will be nursing staff. Both will also include members of other professions.

The pilots are now open at all sites and we would be particularly interested to hear from Chartered Clinical Psychologists, Chartered Forensic Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists or those eligible for chartering by the British Psychological Society as a forensic psychologist and Registered Mental Nurses.

HM Prison Whitemoor

D Wing DSPD Unit at HMP Whitemoor is looking to recruit a range of clinical and operational staff over the next 12 months.

We currently have vacancies for both Highly Specialist and Specialist Clinical Psychologists and nursing staff at all grades. We also welcome enquiries from operational staff who would be interested in working on the Unit.

The Unit works on a fully integrated multi-disciplinary cognitive interpersonal model where all prisoners receive individual therapy and a range of group work interventions. This is an exciting and innovative project where we are beginning to see real change in the men who have worked therapeutically within the programme. All staff, operational and clinical, work together to maximise therapeutic input whilst maintaining a secure and safe environment. There is an active supervision structure in place and good training and development opportunities.
